With a career spanning over two decades, Jen has worked on projects in the Chicagoland area and throughout the country building a portfolio of adaptive reuse, high-rise, mixed-use, hospitality, and institutional buildings. Jen enjoys the collaborative design process of working with the design team and contractors to find cost-effective and constructable solutions for every design challenge.
Jen’s experience on a wide range of new and repurposed existing buildings has built a high level of competence in multiple design systems, encompassing concrete, steel, masonry, and wood design. Architects and contractors appreciate Jen’s creative thinking, combining her technical skills with out-of-the-box solutions to marry the architectural design with the structural requirements of the project. This proactive approach has resulted in several of her projects receiving awards for their innovative structural design.
Jen is passionate about mentorship and the development of future engineers, leading internal educational seminars and participating in external events to introduce youth to STEM careers. She is active in the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois, currently serving as co-chair of the Women in Structural Engineering (WiSE) committee.
Outside the office Jen enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and being outdoors hiking, skiing, and golfing. She also enjoys a long and expanding list of creative pursuits, always eager to learn a new skill.
