  • $38 million
  • 4 stories

Structural Features

  • This new convention center connects directly to the existing Augusta Marriott hotel. The adjacent 100-year-old historic Harrison Building was rehabilitated and incorporated into the convention center’s design as its entry.
  • The design team coordinated a variety of exposed roof framing systems to achieve the architectural vision. Systems included structural steel framing with metal deck, lightweight steel joists with metal deck, and timber beams with tongue and groove roof deck.
  • Bricks removed to create openings for vehicle traffic were re-purposed to fill existing window openings, and existing timber was removed for reuse in other construction projects.
