Structural Features

  • This renewal project, known as Library Next, transformed the two-building complex to match the changing research, teaching, and learning needs of Georgia Tech.
  • Complete seismic upgrades of the historic Price Gilbert Library building, including the introduction of shearwalls and foundations, were designed and installed to meet the latest code requirements.
  • The Crosland Tower building underwent major modifications, including replacing the existing brick facade with high performance curtainwalls, removing larger floor areas to create double-height spaces, and construction of a new occupied roof with trellises.
