This 20 MW capacity colocation data center is a 2-story steel framed building and associated equipment yard.
The building’s laterally braced frames were strategically placed in perimeter bays and at two central “cores” to maximize open floor space at each level for the center’s servers.
The building is flanked by two exterior full length elevated platforms constructed of galvanized structural steel and steel bar grating supporting the majority of the cooling equipment.
All structures – including all exterior equipment platforms – are designed for seismic loading common in this area.
