Jim Case, PE is a Senior Principal and founding partner of Uzun + Case. With a career spanning over four decades, he is widely recognized for his deep understanding of structural systems and his longstanding commitment to integrating structure with architecture. His approach emphasizes engineering rigor, design sensitivity, teamwork, and creative problem-solving.

Jim’s work spans a broad range of building types and construction technologies, from academic and cultural institutions to corporate headquarters and pedestrian bridges. He has led the structural design of many of the firm’s most significant projects, including the Kendeda Building at Georgia Tech, the RGA Corporate Headquarters in St. Louis, the University of Louisville Pedestrian Bridge, and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta designed in collaboration with noted architect Renzo Piano.

In 2013, Jim was named Georgia Engineer of the Year, honoring him for his engineering achievements, dedication to teaching, and leadership within the profession.

Outside of work, Jim loves spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He also enjoys traveling, watching great films, cycling, working out, and cooking.
