1993

Uzun + Case was founded by Tamer Uzun, Jim
Case, Martin Cuadra and Larry McDowell.
Opening the doors with 7 employees.

1995

In 1995, the University of Georgia’s new performing art center opens. The company’s first major project was a joint engineering effort between the partners; sharing the concert hall, music school and art museum.

1998

Growing quickly Uzun + Case has 30 employees and expands its office space in Colony Square. The firm is excited to be awarded its largest project, the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center at over two million square feet.

2001

Uzun + Case is awarded its 1000th project including the High Museum of Art Expansion. The High Museum is one of many projects Uzun + Case has been involved in that have dramatically shaped the landscape of the City of Atlanta.

2003

Engineering work begins on the Georgia Aquarium. Changing the landscape of downtown Atlanta, on opening day the exhibits held 8 million gallons of water and 60 different animal habitats.

2006

In 2006, Uzun + Case completes its first project using the newly released REVIT Structure. As the industry shifts to BIM, Uzun + Case is on the forefront of using the new technology. Now all our projects are modeled and documented using REVIT.

2008

Fifteen years in business, Uzun + Case moves to a new space at one of our recently completed projects, 201 17th Street @ the Atlantic Station Development. With approximately three years and over 16,000 manhours invested in the development, it was fulfilling to be part of this revitalized Atlanta location.

2012

2012 and 2013 highlighted the accomplishments of Uzun + Case. Martin Cuadra was awarded the 2012 Engineer of the Year award followed by Jim Case in 2013. The Georgia Aquarium Dolphin Expansion, Georgia Tech Hinman Building Renovation, CDC Building 24 and Benjamin E. Mays High School were all among the award-winning projects these years.

2014

Founding partner Larry McDowell opens Uzun + Case’s first branch office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Starting with a staff of three, the Raleigh office is established to solidify Uzun + Case’s presence in the rapidly growing North Carolina region.

2018

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of
Uzun + Case, the firm hosted a party celebrating
our employees and clients. And as the year
comes to a close, founding partner Tamer Uzun
officially retires leaving an amazing legacy
behind.

2021

As part of an ongoing focus on sustainability, Uzun + Case initiates steps to join the SE 2050 Commitment Program dedicated to achieving net zero carbon structures by 2050.
