Renelle on the River, Chicago: Project Study

Described as a “Once in a lifetime site along the banks of the Chicago River” by developer Belgravia’s CEO Alan Lev, Renelle on the River located along Wabash Avenue in Chicago Illinois is an 18 story condominium constructed on top of an existing 4 story garage, that remained in-service throughout construction. Building features include views and direct access to the Chicago river, a roof top amenity terrace, vegetated green roofs, a fitness center, and a covered dog run.

Deployable Tensegrity Structures Research

Uzun + Case - Research + Design (U+C-R+D) recently teamed with the School of Architecture and School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech (GT) to develop an innovative lightweight structure. Jim Case (U+C) accompanied Jonathan Desi-Olive (GT) and Michael Koliner (GT) to demonstrate the structure at the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) Exposition in Barcelona, Spain.

Lilli Midtown Residential Tower: Project Study

Located on just a 0.31-acre site, the Lilli Midtown apartment tower rises 25 floors over the popular Peachtree Street in Atlanta and sits across the street from the famous Fox Theater. Totaling 220,000 square feet of occupiable space, it houses 147 residential apartments, a health club, rooftop swimming pool and grill area. There is also a two-level skybridge to an adjacent existing parking deck. Construction took place over 18 months on a very constricted site.
